The Former Dr JS Moroka Municipality Manager Nelson Thammy Kubheka was sentenced by the Mpumalanga Specialised Commercial Crimes Court for violating the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).   The court gave Kubheka an option of paying a fine of R50,000 or be given two year prison sentence, along with an additional two years of imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years, provided he is not convicted of similar offences during that period. Kubheka faces 36 counts of charges which includes fraud, theft, and contravention of the MFMA act in the year 2019 when he unlawfully appointed six service providers, which resulted in R4.8 million loss for the municipality. The court found that proper procedures for procurement were not followed, leading to the overspending.

Schools security guards, in Eersterust, Pretoria, Claim Unpaid Salaries for Over a Year. It has been over a year since some workers at Urban Watch Security, a private security company responsible for guarding Eersterust Secondary School in Pretoria, claim they have not received their salaries.  Despite workers striking during the month of November, sending their concerns to the management, still no one was paid. An anonymous worker revealed that some employees allegedly haven't been paid since January 2024, while others have gone without payment for three consecutive months, starting from November. "When we ask about our payments, they say the 15th, but when the 15th comes, they say month-end, and when month-end comes, it's another story," the worker said. Botswana Government Working so hard to Spare Molapisi's Life. A 30 year old woman, Lesedi Molapisi, from Botswana, is still alive despite some reports that suggested her execution in Bangladesh.
