A contentious legal battle has been brewing since 2022 between DJ Charmza, whose real name is Chris Chauke, and Master KG, the creator of the viral hit song "Jerusalema."

DJ Charmza, a Tzaneen, Limpopo-born artist, claims to be the original creator of the song and has been fighting for ownership rights alongside Biblos, who alleges that his voice was sampled without consent.

The lawsuit, which has been ongoing for over five years, seeks R100 million in compensation from Open Mic and Master KG.

According to DJ Charmza, he produced the beat, arranged the track, and Biblos provided vocals, which were allegedly sampled without permission.

Master KG recently took to Facebook to address the situation, stating, "Being a bigger person sometimes it's a flop. You have to watch people destroy your name n character about lies n nonsense. ke masepa I'm telling you."

However, DJ Charmza's brother was tragically shot dead, and Charmza believes it was a case of mistaken identity, as he has been receiving death threats since the lawsuit began. Master KG has denied any involvement in the killing.

The dispute has sparked a heated debate, with many calling for transparency and fairness in the music industry. As the lawsuit continues, fans and supporters are left wondering who will ultimately claim ownership of the global hit "Jerusalema."
