Suspected Poacher Fatally Wounded in Kruger National Park.


A shooting incident occurred within the Kruger National Park (KNP) on Friday, March 21, 2025, resulting in the fatal wounding of a suspected poacher. Field Rangers responded to the situation, and a second suspected poacher managed to escape.



The authorities at Skukuza in Mpumalanga have launched an investigation into the shooting incident, to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.




A hunting rifle with two rounds of ammunition, as well as a knife, were found in the possession of the fatally wounded suspected poacher. 





These items are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation by the authorities.



The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Field Rangers and law enforcement agencies to combat poaching within the Kruger National Park. 


The park is home to numerous endangered species, and the fight against poaching remains a top priority for the field rangers and the authorities.
