Speaking exclusively to Mamelodi News on condition of anonymity for her safety, the woman, whom we will call Thandi*, recounted how a simple misunderstanding escalated into physical assault. “It started like any other day,” Thandi said. “My boyfriend had bought his favourite spicy drumsticks from the local spaza shop earlier that afternoon. He loves those ones, extra hot, with all the peri-peri seasoning. JOHANNESBURG – A 58-year-old man has appeared briefly before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of rape and attempted murder following a horrific incident involving his one-year-old granddaughter.
