Johannesburg, South Africa - New details have emerged in the murder case of media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock, who was fatally shot on 16 December 2025 outside the Zambezi Building in Johannesburg’s central business district.
Police and prosecutors told the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court that the main accused, Victor Majola (44), did not fire the shot that killed DJ Warras but may have played a critical role in the attack by identifying the victim to the armed men who carried out the killing.
According to court testimony from investigating officer Capt. Abe Montwedi, a witness allegedly overheard Majola speaking in isiZulu shortly before the shooting and pointing out DJ Warras to others, saying, “Nangu lo muntu”, meaning “here is the person.” Moments later, one of the men with him allegedly shot DJ Warras multiple times.
CCTV footage presented in court reportedly shows Majola arriving at the scene with the suspected shooter, sitting together before the incident and leaving on foot immediately after the shooting.
Majola, who has been in custody since his arrest on 22 December 2025, is charged with premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He denies involvement, claiming mistaken identity and insisting there is no direct forensic or cellphone evidence linking him to the crime.
Prosecutors argue that mobile phones seized during the arrest contain DJ Warras’ vehicle registration details and other information allegedly sent to Majola by his girlfriend, who is also under investigation.
The bail hearing is ongoing as police continue investigations and pursue other suspects involved in the case.
