According to Action SA Councillor Cobus Coetzee Mabhena, the project forms part of the City's 2026/2027 Budget, which made provision for upgrading the ageing water treatment infrastructure. The installation of the new pumps is currently underway. Once commissioned, they will pump treated water from the plant to reservoirs before it is distributed to households across Bronkhorstspruit and surrounding communities. While conducting patrols in Atteridgeville, officers arrested a 75-year-old woman and her 35-year-old daughter-in-law after allegedly finding them selling cough syrup in contravention of the Medicines and Related Substances Act. In a separate operation in Olievenhoutbosch, a 35-year-old man was also arrested after officers allegedly found him selling cough syrup and antidepressant tablets for casual consumption, also in contravention of the Act.
