A man believed to be between the ages of 28 and 36 was rushed to hospital after allegedly being electrocuted while attempting to make an illegal electricity connection to a municipal power pole in Mamelodi East RDP.
The incident serves as a reminder of the serious dangers associated with illegal electricity connections, which not only place those involved at risk of severe injury or death but can also endanger surrounding communities through electrical faults, fires and power outages.
