An Attorney was arrested for theft and money laundering after estate scandal. Kobie Niewenhuis, Attorney aged 55, has been arrested for theft and money laundering.  It is alleged that Master of the High Court appointed Niewenhuis serving as an executor of the late CK Flores' estate.  Instead of distributing the funds to the right beneficiaries, she fraudulently misappropriated R234,600 during the period of March 2011 to December 2014. The case was brought before the Bellville Magistrates Court on September 12, 2024.  The proceedings have been adjourned until September 19, 2024, for further discussions regarding bail and legal representation.

We have learned sadly of a passing of one of the greatest actors in South Africa. Ntate Sello Motloung have sadly passed on, on Sunday 15th September 2024 after he collapsed at his home. His significant role in shaping the entertainment landscape will never be forgotten. Most people know Mr Motloung from childhood sotho language series "Nna Sajene Kokobela" as "Kokobela". The 53-year-old actor, presenter, and MC was best known for his roles on SABC 2 Sesotho series shows and others such as Mamelodi, The Wife, Backstage, and Ring of Lies. Motloung latest acting job was on Empini showmax series. The Mamelodi News extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. May his soul rest in peace.

The authorities have taken an action against the Babel restaurants in Menlyn, Pretoria after it came under scrutiny. The act of the police came after a former employee of Babel restaurant in Menlyn, Pretoria, has come forward with allegations of unfair labor practices, claiming that management forced staff to purchase their own uniforms and withheld a portion of their tips. The employee claims that management is now attempting to silence her after she spoke out against the alleged practices. However, she remains determined to expose the truth and seek justice. The allegations include: staff being forced to purchase their own uniforms, despite it being a legal requirement for employers to provide uniforms and management taking a portion of staff tips, which is allegedly against labor laws As such, the police have responded by visiting the restaurant. Three arrests were made - and authorities found out many foreign nationals without proper documentation were part of the working crew.

A 30 year old woman succumbed to her injuries after she was killed by a group of man. The 30 year old named Tshegofatso Gaaname, was tragically murdered by a group of unknown individuals in Lahae, Lenasia, Johannesburg on August 23, 2024.  The reports surrounding her death indicate that she was at her boyfriend's residence when a group of men began shooting and set the house on fire using petrol.  Gaaname sustained severe injuries after the attack and died. So far the authorities made no arrest after Gaanames death.  Anyone with information can contact the nearest police station to give SAPS the lead.

The police have arrested a "mashonisa" in Tembisa. The well known "mashonisa" the loan shark was arrested on Friday for running an illegal loan business. The incident happened in Oakmoor, Tembisa after the authorities found the loan shark with over 600 identity documents, 400 bank cards, speed point and 9 notebooks for writing debts of people who owe him.

The former minister of Minister of Public Enterprises Provin Gordhan has passed away at the age of 75.   Gordhan passing was announced by his family in the early hours of the morning. In the released statement the family said that he passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his family, closest friends and his lifelong Comrades in the liberation struggle. Gordhan was a committed political activist since his teenage years. He elected to retire from active politics after this year's general election to spend time with his family. His last portfolio in the South African Cabinet was Minister of Public Enterprises, from 2018 to 2024, after serving two terms as Minister of Finance, from 2009 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2017.  He also served as Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2014 to 2015.
