It has been a long battle, between Nkosana Kenneth Makate and the telecommunications giant Vodacom.
The case have been in and out of courts for a period of 8 years with no progress, then in the year 2016 the Constitutional Court ruled in favour of Makate and ordered the parties to negotiate for a reasonable amount.
During the negotiations and calculations between the two, Vodacom came back with an offer of R47 million which Makate rejected while calling it "Shocking" and "Insulting"
The matter returned to court recently where Makate told the Constitutional Court that he would accept the payout of R9.4 billion from Vodacom after Supreme Court of Appeal granted him to claim the 18 years interest which amounted to up to 20 Billion of rands for the invention of the "Please Call Me".
