A suspected member of a Boko Haram gang was shot at a car wash in Mamelodi East Ext 5.
Boko Haram group in Mamelodi have been known for terrorising the community for some years.
The group is known by collecting money from the businesses, government entities, rooms, transportation etc as part of the protection fee.
Until today no one is able to link the group to the Nigerian Boko Haram terrorist group but the group continues to collect the protection fee even when some members are killed now and then.
The victim, from Nellmapius Ext 3, was ambushed by six individuals driving white and blue city golfs armed with rifles shortly after arriving at the car wash.
The incident is believed to be part of a violent struggle for control over territory and extortion of businesses money among rival groups.
Do you think government of South Africa is doing enough to end crime in our communities?
We value your feedback as always.
