Mamelodi Resident Speaks Out After A Long Wait And And Rude Staff At A Local Clinic.
By Mamelodi News, September 11, 2025 – Mamelodi East, Pretoria.
A Mamelodi resident is upset after a terrible experience at Stanza Bopape Clinic, located at 2 Shilovhane Street in Mamelodi East. The clinic is supposed to help people quickly, especially in emergencies, but one family waited over 15 hours for care and faced rude treatment from staff.
The resident, who does not want their name shared, went to the clinic with their injured brother on September 9, 2025, at around 9:00 AM. The brother was in bad shape and could not eat or drink. They had to wait in a long queue just to open a file, which took until 11:30 AM. After that, they waited more until 2:30 PM when the files went to the doctor. But the brother only got a drip and was not seen by a doctor until 12:30 AM the next day over 15 hours later.
“We were there from morning, and they only helped my brother after midnight. He was in pain the whole time,” the resident said.
To make things worse, the night shift security guards were very rude. They insulted patients, telling them to leave if they could not wait. They even threatened to kick the injured brother out if he did not sit down, even though he was struggling. The morning security staff said the night team is known for being unkind, which shows this is a big problem.
The Mamelodi News was unable to reach the clinic for a comment, as the resident ask for better service and kinder staff. They want the clinic to fix long waiting times, especially for sick or injured people, and to train security to treat patients with respect. They are ready to point out the rude staff if needed.
This is not the first time people have complained about Stanza Bopape Clinic. Many say they wait hours for help, sometimes in the cold, because there are not enough doctors or nurses. Some patients wait 8-9 hours, even for emergencies. The Gauteng Department of Health knows the clinic is busy, but adding more waiting space does not solve the problem of slow service.
The community is frustrated. They want the clinic and the Gauteng Department of Health to act fast to make things better. “Patients should not suffer like this,” the resident said. “We need care and respect when we go to the clinic.”
