A daring scammer's plan to target unsuspecting bank customers in Marlboro, Gauteng Province, backfired when he was caught and taught a harsh lesson.





According to reports, the scammer, a resident of Tembisa, had traveled to Marlboro with his accomplices, intent on preying on vulnerable victims. Their modus operandi involved targeting people using the Capitec Bank ATM, preventing them from accessing their funds during withdrawals. Once the victims left, the scammers would step in and withdraw the money themselves.


However, on this particular day, the scammer's luck ran out. While his accomplices managed to escape, he was caught by vigilant members of the community.


The suspect was subsequently handed over to the authorities, where he will face the consequences of his actions.


This incident serves as a warning to would-be scammers that their actions will not be tolerated. It also highlights the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement in combating crime.


The police have urged anyone with information about similar scams or suspicious activity to come forward and report it to the authorities.
