The Minister Gayton McKenzie pledges R12 million towards South African hip hop development.





Gayton McKenzie has made a generous pledge of R12 million towards the advancement of Hip Hop in South Africa. 


The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture unveiled this ambitious commitment during a visit to the South African Hip Hop Museum. 


In the presence of museum founder Osmic Menoe, McKenzie announced plans for 12 fully-funded concerts per year, aiming to bolster the local hip hop community and promote a more united music industry. 


With a promise to allocate one million Rand monthly for these concerts, McKenzie's initiative is poised to spark excitement and optimism among hip hop enthusiasts and local artists. 


The Minister's visit to the Hip Hop Museum was met with warm reception and appreciation from Menoe and the broader hip hop community.
