Four police officers in Pretoria, were arrested for unlawfully holding a man from Ethiopia and demanding R50,000 for his release.

The man's brother tried to pay R10,000 for bail, but the officers refused.

They were operating outside their jurisdiction.

Instead of taking a bribe, they seized 36 pairs of sneakers worth R36,000
