A family’s long and painful search for Sphilele Mtsweni, who went missing in January, has finally come to an emotional end after he was found alive and well in Hammanskraal, Themba.
According to a message shared by the Mohlomi family, Sphilele was located after his cousin, Jabulani Mahlangu from Mashiding, travelled to Hammanskraal to visit his father’s home.
During the visit, Jabulani reportedly saw Sphilele and immediately recognised him.
The discovery brought an end to months of uncertainty for the family, who had been appealing to the public for assistance in locating him.
The family said communities and individuals from across South Africa and KwaNdebele had supported the search, while communities including Manyeletwane, Coffee, Siyabuswa, SAPS, Moloto and surrounding areas also assisted.
The family also expressed gratitude to people who donated money, prayed for Sphilele, shared information on social media and visited the family during the difficult period.
They specifically thanked Jabulani for travelling to Hammanskraal and helping reunite the family with Sphilele.
The family said they intend to release a video and further statement explaining how Sphilele was found when the time is right.
For now, the biggest news is that Sphilele Mtsweni is alive and back with his loved ones after seven months of being missing. ❤️🙏
