APC Company Saga Escalates: Anonymous Source Alleges Employee Misconduct Amid Ongoing Workplace Tensions

Mamelodi News, 11 July 2025 – A bombshell allegation from an anonymous source at APC Company, located at 316 Marks Street, Watloo, Pretoria, has intensified the ongoing controversy surrounding the company, following our 26 June 2025 report on employee complaints about poor working conditions. The source claims that some workers are failing to adapt to new management systems and are engaging in inappropriate behavior, including sexual activities during work hours.

According to the anonymous tip, the transition from FPC to APC under new management has introduced new strategies and systems, which a small group of employees has resisted. “There are a few employees that are not compliant with the new system or the change that comes with the new management,” the source stated. They allege that these workers, described as “cowards” unwilling to seek employment elsewhere, are influencing others and undermining the company’s operations. Most shockingly, the source claims that these employees are “not adhering to the rules and regulations of the company,” engaging in sexual intercourse at work, which they say is disrupting workplace harmony and affecting employees’ personal lives, particularly those who are married.

These allegations follow our previous report, which highlighted serious concerns raised by APC workers. Employees had accused the company of imposing unfavorable contract changes, including the removal of allowances and mandatory Sunday shifts without extra pay, forcing workers to sign contracts without clear explanations, implementing unapproved shift rosters with threats of disciplinary action, hiring undocumented foreign nationals, underpaying staff, and fostering a workplace environment rife with discrimination, racism, nepotism, and harassment.

The anonymous source dismisses these earlier complaints as “baseless,” arguing that the disgruntled employees are attempting to tarnish APC’s reputation. They claim the company, a key employer in the community, is being unfairly targeted by workers unwilling to adapt to necessary changes.

Mamelodi News reached out to APC Company via email for comment on these new allegations but has not received a response, consistent with the company’s silence following our initial report. We also contacted the Department of Labour to bring attention to the workers’ earlier claims, and we are awaiting further updates on any investigations or interventions.

Under South African labour law, including the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), and Employment Equity Act (EEA), employers are required to maintain fair working conditions, transparent contract processes, and a workplace free of discrimination. The allegations of employee misconduct, if true, raise additional concerns about workplace governance and oversight at APC.

As the saga at APC Company unfolds, Mamelodi News remains committed to uncovering the truth and providing balanced coverage. We will continue to monitor the situation and report any developments, including responses from APC or the Department of Labour. We urge all parties involved to engage constructively to address these serious allegations and restore stability for the company’s workforce.
