Extortion kingpin Yanga 'Bara' Nyalara was killed in hail of bullets.

Bara with his five crew members were traced by the Eastern Cape police, when a shootout with the police broke.

The incident happened in Gcuwa, in the Eastern Cape, on Thursday afternoon.

It is alleged that they were driving a car with no registration when the National Intervention Unit (NIU) tried to stop them but they decided to shoot at the police.

Yanga 'Bara' Nyalara has been implicated in numerous murders, attempted murders, rape, extortion, illegal possession of firearms, robberies and ammunition.
